Power and Battery Back-up
The Ei146RC Optical Smoke Alarm is a mains-powered device equipped with a 9V Alkaline battery back-up, featuring a large, proven optical smoke chamber. The 9V Alkaline battery will need to be replaced during the alarm's 10-year lifespan.
Alarm Siting
Different alarm sensors are optimized for detecting specific types of fires and should be placed accordingly throughout a property. Optical alarms are particularly effective at identifying slow, smoldering fires, such as those caused by burning sofas or electrical fires. The Ei146RC is ideal for installation in hallways, landings, living rooms, and dining rooms. Installing an optical alarm in these areas reduces the likelihood of nuisance alarms, especially when placed near the kitchen.

The Ei146RC comes with an easi-fit base, ensuring quick and straightforward installation.
RadioLINK Technology
Similar to other alarms in the 140RC Series, the Ei146RC Optical Smoke Alarm can be interconnected with other alarms and accessories via hard wire connection or RadioLINK wireless interconnection, minimizing mess and disruption.
